PROJECT STATUS

The Vert13 Senior Design Team is back from spring break and ready to finish off the semester. The team is finishing the assembly on the Vortex Generator and mounting the Transmission to the Sufah XI.

THE TEAM

We are a team of 7 seniors and 1 junior member. We have many volunteers of underclassman as well as some graduate students. We all attend LeTourneau University and are enrolled in the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology.

ABOUT

Last year's VERT team created a vertical axis wind turbine capable of producing electrical power. Which also included making the turbine efficient in operation and cost effective to manufacture.  This year's VERT team goals are to design and create a step-up transmission as well as a thermal vortex generator which will transfer thermal energy into wind energy in the absence of natural occurring wind. These goals will allow the VERT team to contribute to the work of spreading the Gospel; while at the same time, bringing the blessing of sustainable energy to those teaching and seeking the Gospel of Christ Jesus.

"To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me."

Vertical Energy Recovery Turbine

Our goal as VERT, is to provide sustainable energy in the mission fields.

Our missionaries are in need of electrical power so we have teamed together to work towards that need.
